For new users, the obvious suggestion is to read the Introduction and In-Depth Material parts of the manual through at least once. During this read, do not perform the tutorials but rather read them and try to gain familiarity with the model, the user-interfaces, where certain aspects of the model inputs are described, etc. This will provide those users with an understanding of both the scientific theory employed under-the-hood of the model and the basics of how to tell the model what to do.
After reading through once, return to the two tutorials in the Getting Started chapter. These tutorials are full tutorials that take the user through all the steps to configure the simulation of an imaging system acquiring an existing scene.
For users that attended a training session years ago but have not worked with the model in some time, it is suggested that you browse the tutorials in the Getting Started chapter. These tutorials are full tutorials that take the user through all the steps to configure the simulation of an imaging system acquiring an existing scene.
The chapters in the In-Depth Material part of the manual each include several mini tutorials which will provide the user with more examples on how to configure various aspects of the model. Although the "how-to" sections in these chapters to not provide step-by-step instructions like the "tutorial" sections, these sections explain various configuration options and approaches that can be used to expand your use of the model.
For advanced users or "power" users, there is a large amount of information in all the parts of the manual that are not discussed in any of the tutorials because they are very specialized in their application.
