The cmpimgs tool tests two ENVI images for equality. Its testing mechanism is based on the percent difference calculation, which can be applied to digital counts, band means, and band variances. User-specified thresholds the acceptable percent difference. Comparisons can be applied to either individual bands or the image as a whole.
A basic interface to the utility is supplied via command line arguments. To use the more advanced individual-band features, a small XML configuration file is required. Both sample XML configuration files and a Document Type Definition (DTD) are available.
This program was originally developed to support DIRSIG's in-house, automated testing tool. It is part of the DIRSIG4 distribution.
