The creation of entirely new scenes for the DIRSIG is non-trivial process. Although efforts have been made over the years to streamline the process, such an endeavor still requires coordinating the creation of 3D models of scene elements, terrain data, material properties, material, texture and other maps, etc. Due to the complex challenges of creating a full 3D, wide-spectrum input database, this process is labor intensive.
This is an early draft of a chapter focused on the basics of scene construction. It is incomplete at this time, but it will be continuously enhanced as efforts permit.
