Description Rolando Raqueno 2010-07-09 16:56:29 EDT
The emu-class compute machines cannot run the latest compiled version of SUMO as shown by the following transcript

emu% source ~dirsig/.cshrc
emu% /dirs/pkg/sumo-0.10.1/bin/sumo
/dirs/pkg/sumo-0.10.1/bin/sumo: error while loading shared libraries: libxerces-c.so.28: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
emu% source /dirs//common/etc/cshrc-dev
emu% /dirs/pkg/sumo-0.10.1/bin/sumo
/dirs/pkg/sumo-0.10.1/bin/sumo: error while loading shared libraries: libxerces-c.so.28: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
emu% /dirs/pkg/sumo-0.10.1/bin/sumo
emu% uname -a
Linux emu 2.6.18-164.11.1.el5 #1 SMP Wed Jan 20 07:32:21 EST 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

SUMO runs successfully on the goose-class machines.

-bash-3.2$ /dirs/pkg/sumo-0.10.1/bin/sumo
SUMO sumo Version 0.10.1
 (c) DLR 2001-2009; http://sumo.sourceforge.net
Use --help to get the list of options.
-bash-3.2$ uname -a
Linux goose 2.6.25-14.fc9.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu May 1 06:06:21 EDT 2008 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
-bash-3.2$

BTW, the choices in OS: appears to be mixed. Should it be "Red Hat Linux 5" and "Fedora Core 9"

That's a pretty ancient copy of sumo. They are up to 0.12.0. I don't have time to install an update to it right now; I'll get to it next week.

I would just use a local install if you've got something critical.

Just need it for the HS Intern to work with and also for me to become familiar with it.

We have the goose copy to work with, so it is no hurry from our end.

Just wanted to report it to keep it in the DIRSIG radar.

Thanks,

R

If he has a laptop, just download the window installer off the sumo website.
